Secondary title: Encourage of wholegrain foods in preschool children
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis deals with wholemeal food consumption among preschool children but our purpose is to find out ways to stimulate children to eat food rich in fibre and give suggestions how to improve its consumption. The basis of our work was the RE pedagogical concept. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical one introduces development as well as environmental factors that have a great impact on wholemeal food consumption among preschool children. It presents the importance of dietary fibre in life of these children. The qualitative research presented in the empirical part was carried out in a group of 5 to 6-year-old children (before entering school). The research was provided through the project with emphasis on solving a problem of closed question. The children were faced with the problem of unhealthy eating in the world where they do not consume enough food rich in fibre. They gave ideas and suggestions where to get information about wholemeal food because they knew too little about these food products. Our final idea was to make a cookery book with recipes for wholemeal meals we tested ourselves. The book could serve as a tool to make people aware of healthy eating. The children were motivated all the time. Seeing that their ideas were considered they were happy to be involved in making these meals and tasting them as well. Even the dwarf Žitko had a significant role in motivating them. The children evaluated the meals by using Hedonic Scale. Most of the children liked the meals. To make meals more interesting we used colourful plates and nice settings. At the end of the project the children still had a lot of ideas and solutions what to do to make people more aware of healthy eating. To get an in-depth study we included the nursery teachers and the diet organizer who had to fill in the questionnaires. They all agreed that consumption of wholemeal food is essential for preschool children but they also gave some suggestions how they should eat it more often. Children should be involved in preparing their meals, they should learn and study more about wholemeal food in order to become healthy eaters.

Jedi so otroci ocenili s hedonsko lestvico.
