Secondary title: Possibility of mediation usage in specail schools
Secondary abstract: The thesis deals with the conflicts resolution as it is done in primary schools. Detailed attention is given to mediation as a means of conflict resolution, with school and peer mediation as its subtypes. The advantages and dilemmas of using mediation are listed. The thesis contains information about developmental-psychological characteristics of the disputants and the mediators as well as the course of the psychological development of children in certain fields. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the pupils with mild intellectual disabilities are capable of resolving the conflicts with the help of mediation and if they are able to act as peer mediators. With this intention the thesis contains the characteristics of children with mild intellectual disabilities and their psychological development. Considering the established facts we could deduce that the pupils with mild intellectual disabilities are capable of resolving the conflicts with the help of mediation, some of them could also act as peer mediators. For greater credibility this conclusion should be empirically tested.
