Newton's laws through a science adventure |
Secondary abstract: |
The main purpose of my diploma thesis is to create a scientific adventure based on the Newton's laws. My aim has been to introduce this topic to the kids in elementary school as well as the general public. That is why the adventure will take place in the House of Experiments. The first part is dedicated to theory and various experiments, which lead to deeper understanding of the laws. I implemented experiments on rollerblades, such as free movement, movement with the help of springs which were made for this purpose, and various collisions on rollerblades. These were recorded with a video camera and analysed with computer programs Ffmpeg, Paint and Excel. In the second part all three Newton's laws are explained within the context of a story. Three experiments lead us to the Newton's first law, these are Objects on a spring, Bent ruler and Wonder table. We continue with the explanation of forces in the context of uniform and accelerated motion. For this purpose I prepared experiments called Newton's first and second. These are followed by presentation of various collisions on rollerblades, in which we are changing the mass and the speed of experimentators. We are observing the force of the first object on the second one and vice versa. We get familiar with the Newton's third law. We conclude our story with an example from everyday life. The experiment is called A car and a house, in which I explain what happens when a car crashes into a house. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Poskusi so bili posneti z videokamero in analizirani z računalniškimi programi Ffmpeg, Slikar in Excel. V drugem delu, v okviru zgodbe, predstavim več poskusov, s katerimi spoznamo vse tri Newtonove zakone. Do 1. Newtonovega zakona nas pripeljejo trije poskusi, in sicer Predmeti na vzmeti, Upognjeno ravnilo in Čudežna miza. Nadaljujemo z razlago sil pri premem enakomernem in pospešenem gibanju. Pripravila sem poskuse imenovane Newtonov prvi in drugi. Sledi prikaz različnih trkov na rolerjih, pri katerih spreminjamo maso in hitrosti oseb. Pozorni smo na silo prvega telesa na drugega in obratno. Spoznamo 3. Newtonov zakon. Zgodbo zaključimo s primerom iz vsakdanjega življenja, s poskusom Avtomobil in hiša. Razložila sem, kaj se zgodi, ko se avtomobil zaleti v hišo. |
