Secondary title: Comparison of design of glued laminated members according to standard Eurocode 5 and more detailed analysis by a computer program
Secondary abstract: The thesis contains an analysis of different types of glued laminated members that have been used for the tasks used on imaginary stables in Ljubljana area. This analysis focuses on tapered beam, double-tapered beam, pitched cambered beam and curved beam. Loading and load case are determined by SIST EN 1991. Two methods of calculation have been used; simplified equations from Eurocode 5 and a more detailed analysis enabled by a computer program Tower. In addition, the thesis offers a comparison of deviations of the linear stress distribution in critical areas for the two methods of calculation and changes in these deviations caused by a change to the geometric characteristics of members. In all cases, the deviations between the calculation from Eurocode 5 and the finite element method was minimal and within acceptable limits.
