Unit hydrograph in hydrological models |

In the last few years the world, as well as Slovenia, are increasingly faced with the emergence of large-scale flooding. Because of more frequent and intense flooding, there is an increasing number of research projects and flood forecasting. Floods can be predicted by hydrological modeling. Unit hydrograph transforms precipitation into runoff. It is defined as surface runoff caused by one unit of effective rainfall 10 mm. At the same time it illustrates all the factors that influence the creation of runoff from the basin. Hence, it is vital information for hydrological modeling and flood forecasting. If the data are available, the unit hydrograph can be determined from the measurments and if the data are not exist or they are very deficient we can produce a synthetic unit hydrographs.
In the first part of the present work theoretical background of the unit hydrograph is presented as well as the influencing factors and methods of synthetic unit hydrograph. The main part of the work contains the hydrologic model of the Trebuščica made with measured unit hydrograph and different methods of synthetic unit hydrograph. The model was conducted using HEC-HMS software and calibrated using measured rainfall and discharge data. In addition analysis and comparisons of the results of models made with measured unit hydrograph and different methods of synthetic unit hydrograph were presented. Methods of Snyder, SCS, and Clark were used to create synthetic unit hydrograph . |

Abstract (ePrints): |
V prvem delu naloge so predstavljene teoretične osnove hidrograma enote, vplivni dejavniki in pregled metod za izdelavo sintetičnega hidrograma enote. V drugem delu sledi uporaba merjenega hidrograma enote in različnih sintetičnih hidrogramov enote na primeru Trebuščice. |
