Testing programs for the calculation of water hammer and their application in the design of a derivation hydroelectric power plant |
Secondary abstract: |
The purpose of this work is to study hydroelectric transients that occur in hydroelectric power plants and describe the numerical methods which solve basic equations. Then, based on the testing of various computer programs that calculate water hammer effect, we chose the optimal program. With the program a calculation was made for the various closing and opening maneuvers of the turbines in an existing derivation hydroelectric power plant.
Investigation showed good matching between results of all three programs VU, VODU and WHAMO for the simulation of water hammer in hydraulic passage systems with shorter closing times. It is much harder to get good results using programs VODU and VU for the simulation of water hammer in hydraulic passage systems with longer closing times. Numerical error caused by rounding results of the calculation leads to major fluctuations. For such simulations the most appropriate program is WHAMO. |

Namen diplomske naloge je spoznati hidravlične prehodne pojave, ki nastopajo v hidroelektrarnah in opisati numerične metode reševanja osnovnih enačb. Nato se na podlagi testiranja različnih programov za račun vodnega udara izbere optimalnega, s katerim se izvede izračun konkretne derivacijske hidroelektrarne za različne manevre zapiranja in odpiranja turbin.
Ugotovili smo, da so pri simulacijah pretočnih sistemov s krajšim časom zapiranja za izračun vodnega udara primerni vsi trije programi VU, VODU in WHAMO. Pri simulaciji pretočnega sistema z daljšimi časi zapiranja pa se pri programih VODU in VU pojavijo prevelika nihanja, katerih vzrok je numerična napaka ki nastane pri zaokroževanju rezultatov izračuna. Za takšne simulacije je najprimernejši program WHAMO. |
