The use of electrophotography for water quality assessment |

Pure drinking water is one of main living conditions for survival of human race, therefore
constant technological development and scientific research is essential on this field. We
decided to research application of method called digital electrophotography for analyzing
water samples for water sources, where we try to find quality and quantity of substance in
drinking water which can be harmful for human health.
We tried to find specific characteristics of parameters used by method of digital
electrophotography for recognition of four different types of water solutions in seven
concentrations each. We tested potassium chlorate (K2Cr2O7), sodium nitrate (NaNO3),
saccharose (C12H22O11) and benzene (C6H6).
We were able to prove that we can draw a distinction between different substances in water
solutions by using method of digital electrophotography, with finding a constant values of
parameters represented in the corona discharge analysis around drops of water solutions.
We also confirmed that this method is appropriate for analysis of ionic and also organic
substances, however for practical use of analysis drinking water sources further technological
development of this method is needed. The main advantage of this method in comparison
with traditional one we see in its ability of revealing subtle fields via their imprint in water.
Witch gives us much greater picture of water in general, becoming now more than just
chemical solution and as such gives new standard of quality for drinking water source. |
