Secondary abstract: Graduation thesis presents theoretical hydrograph basis and graphical separation methods. The practical part includes water wave analysis on river Sava in Šentjakob. In the first part the hydrograph, its components, characteristics and parameters are presented. The presented shape of hydrograph is equally important for water management projects as any other characteristic parameters of the hydrograph. There is also the explanation of base flow, its presentation and characteristics. The most important statistical base flow characteristic is the event base flow index, which provides a means to assess base flow contributions to stream flow events. Initial base flow is also as an index to runoff volume. Furthermore, graphical methods of base flow separation on simple and complex hydrographs are listed and described. The following narrative describes water wave analysis of Sava in Šentjakob. For the selected hydrological station and longer time period, main water wave parameters were determined: peak, volume and duration. Associations among water wave characteristics and impact of each addressed graphical methods of base flow separation on those relationships were analysed.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen diplomske naloge je predstaviti teoretične osnove hidrograma ter grafične metode izločanja baznega odtoka na hidrogramu. Praktični del zajema analizo visokovodnih valov na vodotoku Sava v Šentjakobu. V diplomskem delu je najprej predstavljen hidrogram, njegove komponente, značilnosti in parametri. Predstavljena je tudi vloga oblike hidrograma, ki je enako pomembna za izvajanje učinkovitega upravljanja z vodnimi viri kot ostale značilnosti hidrograma visokovodnega vala. Sledi poglavje o baznemu odtoku, njegova predstavitev, značilnosti in statistična analiza karakteristik baznega odtoka. Pri statistični analizi je poudarek na indeksu baznega odtoka, ki zagotavlja pravilnost ocene deleža baznega odtoka, ki prispeva k celotnemu volumnu dogodka. Začetni bazni odtok je lahko tudi indikator volumna odtoka ter vpliva na velikost površinskega volumna. Opisane so različne grafične metode izločanja baznega odtoka na enostavnem in kompleksnem hidrogramu.V praktičnem delu naloge je predstavljena analiza visokovodnih valov. Za izbrano hidrološko postajo in daljše obdobje meritev, smo s tremi grafičnimi metodami izločanja baznega odtoka določili konico, volumen in trajanje visokovodnega vala. Za vse tri primere izločanja baznega odtoka smo naredili analizo odnosov med vsemi tremi spremenljivkami visokovodnega vala ter poskušali kritično analizirati vpliv izbire različnih grafičnih metod izločanja baznega odtoka na ta razmerja.
