Secondary abstract: Graduation thesis is discussing mixing processes and thermal pollution of the Sava River at the location of future reservoir Brežice. The reservoir will be extending from a weir located in the vicinity of Nuclear power plant Krško to the future dam at the location of hydroelectric power plant Brežice. We were interested on the influence of cooling water on the thermal conditions of the Sava River in the future conditions. We analysed the results of a three-dimensional simulations that had been made with mathematical model PCFLOW3D. The results of simulations were section profile images with temperature contour lines. With a help of these results, we defined the future location of complete mixing. We were checking if temperatures are going to be in compliance with regulations. We analysed the current conditions with one-dimensional mathematical model HOTRIVER. Evaluation of model results was made with the assistance of temperature measurements in the Sava River. Measurements were made on several locations in July and September in year 2010. In this way we have defined current thermal conditions in the region of the future accumulation Brežice and we have compared it to the future conditions.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi smo obravnavali procese toplotnega mešanja Save na območju bodočega bazena Brežice. Bazen se bo raztezal od jezu pri Nuklearni elektrarni Krško (NEK) do bodoče pregrade pri hidroelektrarni Brežice. Zanimalo nas je, kako bo hladilna voda iz NEK v bodočem stanju vplivala na toplotne razmere Save na tem območju. Analizirali smo rezultate tridimenzionalnih simulacij, ki so bile izvedene s pomočjo matematičnega modela PCFLOW3D. Izrisali smo toplotne izolinije v posameznih prečnih prerezih struge. Na podlagi teh rezultatov smo nato določili bodočo točko popolnega premešanja savske vode z hladilno vodo. Kontrolirali smo, če bodo temperature v skladu z zakonskimi omejitvami. Naredili smo analizo sedanjega stanja z enodimenzionalnim modelom HOTRIVER. Pri vrednotenju rezultatov modela smo si pomagali z meritvami temperature Save, ki so bile izvedene v mesecih julij in september leta 2010 na različnih lokacijah dolvodno od izpusta hladilne vode. Na ta način smo definirali trenutne toplotne razmere na območju bodočega bazena Brežice in nato izvedli še primerjavo z bodočimi razmerami.
