Secondary title: Mechanical analysis of a gravity dam
Secondary abstract: In the first part of our work we will present the water supply project in Obala and backend Karst regions. The use of the river Reka and its tributary Suhorka is essential, since an amassment is going to be built on it. We decided to build the dam from rolled concrete, which is economically and environmentally better than a paved barrier or a classic concrete dam. The second part of our work includes tension and stability program calculations. The primary dimensions of the dam-taken from a technical report-were not suitable because of high straining tensions in the downstream side of the dam, causing the formation of cracks. By reinforcing the upstream and downstream part and the top of the dam, we determined a new geometry of the dam and assured proper security.
