Virtual construction: case studies of 4D simulations |
Secondary abstract: |
This thesis deals with the specific area of civil engineering known as building information modeling. Approach is based on cooperation between investor, architect, builder and contractors. The desire of investor, architect and builder is to optimize the project, prior to the beginning of the construction in order to avoid later congestion at the site. The reminder of the thesis illustrates how the computer aided program ArchiCAD can be used in order to build an information model of residential building and creation of construction simulation based on actual schedule afterward. Creating 4D construction simulation is done step by step where structural elements are determined their functions or activities, which occur with them. For example in given floor the group of walls has to »know« its task type: »Build«, the start and completion of work. The same model was imported into program Navisworks where we also made 4D construction simulation. Programs and the simulations were compared. We found out that the program Navisworks is better to be used for creation of construction simulation than ArchiCAD. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
