Secondary abstract: The graduation thesis addresses the usage of mobile applications based on iOS operating system in the process of construction. The first part describes the operating system and its main characteristics. Furthermore, it presents the iPhone and iPad which are the most useful iOS devices when it comes to civil engineering, explains the concept of mobile application and defines the criteria for rating its quality. In the second part, the process of construction is divided into four phases. These phases represent the basis for analysing the applications. In each of these phases the applications namely have to meet different requirements and fit different criteria to be suitable for use. The thesis then focuses on the applications that fit the criteria best. These applications are also more thoroughly described and explained. For each phase a range of options for use and potential development of applications is given. The thesis proves that there are already many suitable applications available on the market. The possibilities for their use are many and they could be used to simplify and lower the cost of the construction process.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomska naloga obravnava možnost uporabe mobilnih aplikacij operacijskega sistema iOS v procesu gradnje. Prvi del predstavlja operacijski sistem in njegove glavne značilnosti, opisuje napravi iPhone in iPad, ki sta med iOS napravami najbolj primerni za uporabo v gradbeništvu, razlaga pojem mobilne aplikacije ter definira kriterije za ocenjevanje kvalitete le-te. V drugem delu je za potrebe analize aplikacij gradbeni proces razdeljen na štiri faze. Za vsako od teh faz so definirane zahteve in kriteriji za primerne aplikacije. Poudarek je na aplikacijah, ki najbolje ustrezajo kriterijem uporabnosti. Te aplikacije so nato podrobneje opisane in ocenjene. Za vsak sklop je podana ocena možnosti uporabe aplikacij in potencialnega razvoja. Naloga dokazuje, da je primernih iOS aplikacij na tržišču že veliko. Možnosti za njihovo uporabo so velike in z njimi poenostavimo in pocenimo proces gradnje.
