Secondary title: Design of pedestrian suspended bridge over the river Tolminka
Secondary abstract: In graduation thesis calculation example of a steel suspension footbridge for pedestrians over the river Tolminka is shown. The main parameters that affect the design of a simple suspended pedestrian bridge are span, load, and sag. Assuming that the span and the load are known, the reasonable maximum sag needs to be determined. The main load-bearing elements of such bridges are steel ropes. The first part of the thesis deals with the physical description of a rope and its behavior under different modes of load. The second part shows the construction process of the bridge for the ultimate limit state. Here the recommendations of standards and manuals for the construction of such bridges are followed. The last part explains how the sag and rope force is changing for different load situations (weight of the rope only, selfweight, serviceability limit state), in reference to chosen sag at the ultimate limit state.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi je prikazan računski primer konstruiranja viseče jeklene brvi čez reko Tolminko za pešce. Glavni nosilni element takih mostov so jeklene vrvi.
