Impact of weather on traffic flow characteristics |
Secondary abstract: |
In this thesis, we analyze the traffic flow characteristics at the Ljubljana freeway junction and Access road in the city of Ljubljana categorized as a regional road in relation to the different weather conditions during the period between October 2012 and February 2013. An overview of dependencie between the three basic variables of the traffic flow (speed, flow and density) depending on weather
conditions (ideally, rainy, poor visibility and snow) for each driving zone and the direction of the traffic counter separately. In addition to the basic variables we individually analyzed the spacing between vehicles and roadway occupancy depending on the weather for any place specially considered countable. For the analysis section of the main road Brezovica – Ljubljana was used in addition to the quantitative and qualitative data. Ensure that this addition to the measured data of wales detector, we recorded a cruising speed and travel times driving with everyday driving four month period after the selected section by car during morning and evening rush hours.
We found that different weather conditions varying degrees of impact on the variables of traffic flow and permeability of the road. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
mesto posebej. Za analizo odseka regionalne ceste Brezovica – Ljubljana smo uporabili poleg kvantitativnih tudi kvalitativne podatke. Poleg spremljanja podatkov izmerjenih z zančnim detektorjem, smo beležili potovalno hitrost in potovalne čase vožnje z vsakodnevno vožnjo štiri mesečnega obdobja po izbranem odseku z osebnim vozilom v času jutranje in popoldanske konice. Ugotovili smo, da imajo različni vremenski pogoji različne stopnje vpliva na spremenljivke prometnega toka in prepustnost ceste. |
