Oscillations and vibrations in railway traffic |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis treats a problem of oscillations and vibrations which take rise in railway traffic. Incipient chapters cover the basis of theory of vibration as well as describe elements presented in railway superstructure, that have a significant influence on the occurence and propagation of vibration. Thereafter the wheel-rail contact and different types of vibrational sources, due to rail and wheel
irregularities, are described in greater detail. Procedure implementation of vibration measurement as well as effects of train-induced vibration are also briefly discussed. Major portion of contents is focused on mitigating measures, with a great emphasis on under-sleeper pads.
Based on the simple dynamic model of a train-track system, displacements, velocities and accelerations, which represent approximate values of oscillations, that can be anticipated in such system, are calculated in the end. Model is designed as a single degree-of-freedom system and
represents movement of a damped mass element with constant speed on a sine curved grounding. Based on the results, that are graphically represented in diagrams, one can conclude, how the values of oscillations are dependant on geometrical parameters of rail corrugations, speed of train and mass of a carriage. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
