Secondary title: Semantic catalogue of construction products
Secondary abstract: Following the example in other European countries there is a need for an information system for storing and handling information of construction products in Slovenia. This information may be a general description, characteristic, specification or information about the impact on the environment and other areas of urban space. Problems in designing such a system are collecting parameters that can be used to describe the product. These can be selected on the basis of the European regulations of construction products and essential criteria that demonstrate environmentally sustainable development (i.e. Environmental Product Declaration). The information system was designed to store data of products in a database and operations of these are implemented through the user interface on the Web. In doing so, we used the latest Web technologies. Users are able to search through the desired criteria such as environmental impact, price, insulation, etc. and compare between different products. The system could serve as incentive to sustainable development as it would allow the system to highlight the most environmentally friendly products. Aspect of sustainable development is currently the most important among criteria.
