Secondary title: Media education and preschool children
Secondary abstract: In the modern world the main source of information are the media. There are more and more different and equal media, and from such a multitude of information it is difficult to understand, which ones are key, real and important. The media are very popular with the children, so they have a big impact on them. The graduation thesis entitled Media Education and the Pre-school Child is comprised of theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part I identified the concepts of media, media education and media literacy, and explored how adults can have an impact on the media education of children. In the empirical part I tested by questionnaire to see what view do children have on contemporary media, which media are close to them, and whether they see the difference between it. The survey involved 39 pre-school children aged from 4 to 6 years, from kindergarten Domžale, of which were 20 girls and 20 boys. The survey showed that pre-school children know the word media, but it is difficult for them to tell what it means. Regardless of the sex, the children can see the difference between the media, but they hardly tell the names of two different representatives of the same media. Children watch cartoons on television. The media, through which the children are most commonly encountered, regardless of sex, is the television.

Abstract (ePrints): V sodobnem svetu so mediji glavni vir informacij.
