The specifics of pedagogical work in Montessori primary school |
Secondary abstract: |
The theoretical part of the thesis is composed of the definition of basic specifics of the Montessori pedagogy with its known triangular structure (the view at a child, the role of a teacher and the role of the environment). Further, the thesis presents the structure of the Montessori primary school program and its curiculum, which is followed by a comparison of the pedagogical approach in Montessori schools as opposed to the classical one followed by the majority of primary schools.
The empirical part of the thesis consists of the analysis and interpretation of the results of the results of the structural observation, which was conducted among the »first triad (first, second and third grade) « pupils of the Montessori school. With the technique of observationmthe author intended to identify the specifics of the Montessori approach.
The results of the observation strived to demonstrate countless particularities within the pedagogical work in Montessori schools, which clearly differ from the classical approach. While the role of the teacher is predominantly than of an observer, the get actively involved in the learning process when their assistance is needed. New material is presented to smaller groups of pupils when it is clear that they understood the previous one. Afterwards learning process takes place independently, in pairs or in group.
Montessori environment strives to stimulate pupils to become independent and autonomous. It encloses: tools to gain cognitive skills (know as learning materials), classroom participants, school rules, and Montessori school spirit.
In the last part of the thesis the interpretation of the results is presented with table-sheets. |

V teoretični delu diplomskega dela so predstavljene ključne posebnosti pedagogike montessori, in sicer v obliki trikotne sheme: pogled na otroka, vloga učitelja in pomen okolja. V nadaljevanju je opredeljen program osnovne šole montessori z učnimi načrti šolskih predmetnih področij. Temu sledi primerjava pedagoškega dela v montessori in večinskih osnovnih šolah. Narejena je tudi primerjava strukture pouka v večinskih šolah in v šoli montessori.
Empirični del je namenjen analizi in interpretiranju rezultatov strukturiranega opazovanja, ki je bilo izvedeno med učenci prve triade (prvi, drugi in tretji razred) osnovne šole montessori. S tehniko opazovanja sem želela ugotoviti, kakšen je način ter kakšne so posebnosti pedagoškega dela v osnovni šoli montessori.
Rezultati opazovanja so pokazali, da pedagoško delo v osnovni šoli montessori vsebuje številne posebnosti in se tako razlikuje od klasičnega poteka v večinskih osnovnih šolah. Učitelj je predvsem aktivni opazovalec, učencem pa pomaga, če potrebujejo pomoč, jim v manjših skupinah predstavi nov učni material in jih ne moti, če to ni potrebno. Otroci večinoma delajo samostojno ali v parih, nekajkrat tudi v skupini, v kateri so lahko skupaj z učitelji ali učenci. Okolje v širšem smislu, ki ne vključuje samo učnih materialov, značilnih za to pedagogiko, temveč tudi vse udeležence pouka, pravila in vzdušje, ki ga skupaj ustvarjajo, pa je pripravljeno za uspešno pot k samostojnosti vsakega otroka. |
