Secondary title: Relaxation techniques for children from 2 to 3
Secondary abstract: Stress. The word we so often hear nowdays in various contexts, it has ceased to excite us. Abundance of articles concerning experiencing stress in a loss of those close to us, loss of health, stress in adolescence, education, nowadays even of stress in childhood. Stress is considered by many experts, a major factor limiting personal development in personal growth and success of an individual performance. Today's way of life for adults and children makes it impossible to follow child's rhytm change of activity activity and rest, tension and release, strain and relief. Stressfull situations thus become more probable, as noted by the authors of Potovanje v tišino (Menih and Srebot) argue, citing the fact that nervous strain symptome, typical in older population, is gaining its frequency in younger population. Children are experiencing agressiveness, nervousness, overtension, restlessness, deconcentration, sleeplessness. Symptoms can be physical as well: abdominal pain, headaches, alergies, asthma, nail-biting. In my thesis I wish to present methods and value of pre-school children relaxation techniques as well as few theoretical concepts regarding relaxation methods, suitable for use in preshool period. One knows and can use various relaxation techniques: yoga, massage, giuided visualisation, relaxation active stories and relaxation with physical exercises. Theoretical part of the thesis presents simple means of release and atractive relaxation techniques that require no prior knowlege, and bring a lot of benefits at the same time. In the empirical part of my thesis I describe the experiences and responses of chidren in the implementation of relaxation techniques. I have found out myself that performing relaxation techniques with preschool children results in a positive impact on their behaviour and mood. Techniques evoke tranquility and they're fun.
