Secondary abstract:	I chose this thopic, because I want to get information about the design and creation of outdoor living space. And because there is a special passion for nature that runs in our family. My grandfather was a gardener, my sister also has a horticultural activity and I would like to delve into this topic and learn about everything that is needed for the design of the surroundings of the house area, which is something I will also use in my future career, in advising, or to help my sister. The thesis will focus on the planning and design of external living space. It can be of very different shapes, depending on what we want from it, or what gives us pleasure. Some people are satisfied with gardens with lawn, bushes or unusual trees, while others prefer berries and fruit trees in lines where they maintain order with scissors in hands. Still others may love the flowers on strictly regulated flower-beds or many have rather arbitrarily placed flower-beds among the picturesque rocks. There are also those people who want a lawn, where the crocuses, primroses and daisies make them feel like they live in a fairy-tale garden. Some have the purpose to cultivate vegetables and asparagus or they imagine how to make a small pool in which the reeds and water lilies would swim among colorful goldfish. Maybe they will actualize some of these ideas but not abandon others. There are so many possibilities to plan outdoor living space or garden. In the thesis the basic planning guidelines to design outdoor living space are present, taking into account the different activities that one can perform in the garden. The components of gardens, lawns, built elements (garden equipment), garden terrace, seating, fences, vegetation and plants in general, and paving as design elements are described. The focus is on how to draw a garden plan, how to harmonize wishes and options, what planting is appropriate for each season, how the additional decorative garden can be changed with accessories.
