Anton Trstenjak wrote: »Our life is practically sinking in the sea of light and colours.« Different colours create different psycho-physiological responses. That is why colours have various impacts on human experiences and arrangements of our attention. When we know how control the colours in our environment, we can influence human psychological and physiological well-being and attention in the space. In my thesis, I explore how colours affect our feelings, our body and attention. Knowing all that, I discover how colours can influence on human productivity in working environment. I explore it in two separate ways: through art-theory and art-pedagogics.
In art theoretical section of my thesis, I explore human – colour relations. I also discover psycho-physiology of colour perception and culture determinism of colour symbolism. Then, I research their impact on experience, attention and productivity in working areas. Also I find out, why people feel and react differently in various coloured work spaces. I establish how it is possible to influence on workers success, their satisfaction and productivity with something as simple as colour. On a base of those findings I design some practical art directions for using colours in working environment.
Through art pedagogical way I prepare directions for andragogical, adult training. I design a sample presentation for leading management in company to introduce the influence of colours on productivity in working space. |
