Children at primary school need quality food for their physical and mental health. A lot of researches have been done to prove that there are more and more needs for special diets. Because every pupil at primary school is entitled to at least one meal at school days, schools should provide diet meals also where the excluded food is nutritionally and energetically replaced as much as it is possible.
We have been researching which diets are the most frequent at our schools nowadays, what is the way of diet meals preparation organization and what problems occur when preparing the meals. There have six organizers of food at primary schools cooperated in the research. We have done structure interviews with individual organizers.
We have found out that the organizers of food at primary schools have numerous problems with assurance of diet meals which number is rising every year. Problems are especially in organization which includes low accessibility or diet products purchase. According to legislation which determines that every pupil is entitled to at least one meal a day when they have lessons, diet meals are treated as an additional offer, therefore, it would be necessary for the food organizers to prepare clear instructions for united quality work at all primary schools and systematically order at the state level. |
