This dissertation deals with the concept of organizational culture. Very often, we encounter various cultures throughout our lives. This way, we get to know the cultures of many different countries, nations as well as the cultures of companies and organizations. Globalization has caused many changes in the business environment, which, in consequence, are changing the organizational culture of companies rapidly. Each change, behaviour or activity is reflected in organizational culture and at the same time each change of organizational culture causes changes in other business or organization areas. With the manufacturing of organizational culture, the contentment of employees rises and consequently the organization becomes more successful.
The dissertation is divided into two parts, namely a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definiton on organizational culture. In this part, general as well as specific definitions of culture are presented. Furthermore, various typologies of organizational culture are shown. The major focus lies on the presentation of the analysis of the typology of organizational culture used by the company X, namely the typology according to Cameron and Quinn.
In the practical, or empirical part, the company X, on which the research has been conducted, is briefly introduced.
The investigation and research of business environment is a very demanding task, since it is changing constantly. For this reason, I have tried to capture in my dissertation the most important discoveries of different authors on the meaning of organizational culture in business environment and on organizational culture by itself.
Today, we can find many authors who have studied culture, its influence on the environment and its importance. Because the business environment is constantly changing, organizational culture is consequently changing as well. Therefore, every organization needs somebody whose sole focus is on the employees, their contentment, their comfort and productivity and in consequence on a good atmosphere in a company, and on culture as well, which every company needs in order to conduct business successfully. |
