(magistrsko delo)

Abstract

This is the main reason, why we have to recognize it and to answer it in the proper way and consequently prevent it or at least reduce its consequences. In dissertation we have focused on the phenomenon of violence among workers in health care in the one of the Slovenian hospitals. We focused on the extent to which traces the violence itself, which forms of violence occur in the health care and who is the one who carry out violence among the workers. Research methodology. We carried out transparently cross-sectional population survey, which was conducted on a sample of 121 employees in health care in one of the Slovenian hospitals. With analysis of anonymous questioner, summarized from Delovna skupina za nenasilje v zdravstveni negi (Workgroup for nonviolence in healthcare), we gathered the information and facts and showed them graphically. Answers to open questions we analyzed with text analysis. All documents and information that we gathered through the questioner, we compared with results of Slovenian research on harassment in health care from year 1999. Results. With research that we made, it is proved that workplace harassment exists in health care and it is comparable with results of other researches which were made within this field. In terms of forms of harassment it was proved that the most presented is psychologically violence, followed by physically, economically and very small percentage of sexual harassment. Conclusion. It is important to perceive, recognize and treat harassment as soon as possible and offer proper help to the victims of violence.
