Abstract
Tema diplomske naloge je zanemarjanje otrok kot ena od oblik nasilja v družini nad otroki. Opredeljujemo jo kot primanjkljaj skrbi in nege odraslih oseb do otroka, kar bistveno vpliva na njegov razvoj. Glede na statistične podatke o številu otrok, žrtev kaznivih dejanj, storjenih v družini, med leti 2000 in 2012 sklepamo na porast tega pojava tudi na Slovenskem. Pomembno vlogo pri odkrivanju suma na zanemarjanje otrok ima učitelj, ki v razredu pozorno spremlja vedenje otrok in se odziva na nekatere vidne pokazatelje, kot so zunanja neurejenost in higienska pomanjkljivost otroka, izostajanje od pouka in upad učnega uspeha, slaba podoba o sebi ter slaba slika splošnega zdravja. Na to temo smo izvedli raziskavo med strokovnimi delavci, ki delajo na nekaterih osnovnih šolah v Koprskem primorju. Ugotavljamo, da dobra polovica strokovnih delavcev na šoli vsaj enkrat v šolskem letu v razredu opazi zanemarjenega otroka. Ocenjujejo, da so učitelji tisti, ki na podlagi vsakodnevnih opazovanj najzanesljiveje prepoznajo tak pojav. Kljub temu da svoje zmožnosti za prepoznavanje in ravnanje z zanemarjenim otrokom ocenjujejo kot dobre, si na tem področju želijo več znanja in praktičnega izobraževanja. Učitelji si želijo, da bi bile strokovne službe zunaj šole v večji meri odzivne in učinkovite pri obravnavi primerov in pri vzpostavljanju stikov s šolo. Na osnovi rezultatov ugotavljamo potrebo po nadaljnjem profesionalnem razvoju strokovnih delavcev na šoli s področja žrtev otrok nasilja v družini. Ta tematika bi morala biti v večji meri vključena tudi v vsebine študijskih programov, ki izobražujejo za poklic učiteljev. Pričakujemo, da bo naša raziskava spodbudila podobne raziskave po Sloveniji.

Sociological aspects of the role of the teacher in identification of parental neglect as a form of domestic violence |

Theme of the thesis is parental neglect as a form of child abuse in family. We define it as lack of care of adults towards children which significantly affects their development. According to statistical data regarding number of children, victims of criminal offences committed in families between 2000 and 2012 we are concluding that this phenomenon is increasing also in Slovenia. Important role in determining suspicion of parental neglect is in teacher's hands as they pay attention to children's behaviour in class, and respond to some visible indicators such as poor visual appearance and lack of hygiene, skipping classes and decreasing learning success, poor self-esteem, and poor general health. We have conducted a research among professional staff working in some elementary schools in the Adriatic region of Koper. We have determined that more than half of professional staff in school notice a neglected child in their class at least once per school year. They estimate that teachers are the ones who identify this phenomenon most reliably based on daily observations. Despite the fact that they estimate their ability to identify and treat a neglected child as beneficent, they wish more knowledge and practical training would be available in this field. Teachers want that professional services outside schools would be more responsive and efficient when treating cases, and when contacting schools. Based on results, we are determining the need for further professional development of professional staff in schools in the field of domestic violence child victims. This topic should also be more included in study programmes which educate teachers. We expect that our research will encourage similar research across Slovenia. |
