Abstract

V diplomskem delu sem se osredotočila na istospolno usmerjene osebe, ki so svojo istospolno identiteto že razkrile svojim staršem in na starše, ki imajo za sabo že izkušnjo soočenja z otrokovo istospolno usmerjenostjo. Zanimalo me je predvsem, kako istospolno usmerjene osebe doživljajo lastno razkritje in kako starši doživljajo razkritje svojega otroka. V teoretičnem delu se osredotočam predvsem na nastajanje istospolne identitete, na njeno razkritje ter vpliv le tega na odnos starši – otrok. V empiričnem delu predstavljam rezultate fokusne skupine, v katero so bile vključene istospolno usmerjene osebe in rezultate treh intervjujev, v katere so bili vključeni starši istospolno usmerjenih otrok.

Secondary language: English
Secondary title: Adult homosexuals` and their parents` experiences with coming out
Secondary abstract: The following graduate paper concentrates on homosexuals who have revealed their sexual orientation to their parents and on parents who have faced their child's homosexual orientation. The focus lays on the question how a homosexual experiences their own disclosure and how their parents are facing it. The theoretical part concentrates on the development of the sexual identity, its disclosure and influence on the parents – child relationship. The empirical part introduces the results of the focus group including homosexuals and the results of three interviews with the parents of homosexually oriented children. It can be concluded that the disclosure of the homosexual identity is not a stressful event but as a spontaneous one. The parents’ reactions varied; the majority asserts that they accept their child regardless of their sexual orientation.
