diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa
Abstract

Secondary abstract: |
This diploma thesis is written with the intention to present a project of the European Union named Galileo. Galileo is a satellite-navigation system that EU is developing in cooperation with the European Space Agency.
Galileo development began in the 90’s in the previous century. However there were many obstacles in the process, including difficult negotiations with the USA regarding frequencies and interoperability with GPS, and also financing troubles, when the firstly planned public-private partnership failed to succeed.
In the time of writing this thesis Galileo development in well under way. The test phase is complete and the actual Galileo satellites are to begin launching soon. Galileo is expected to reach full operability in 2013. |
