Abstract

Zelene strehe predstavljajo neizkoriščen potencial, s katerim lahko naravi povrnemo odvzete zelene površine zaradi gradnje in s tem dvignemo nivo kvalitete bivanja.

Secondary title: Standards of sustainable architecture: green roof
Secondary abstract: Green roof, as an unused potential, gives us the opportunity to return green surfaces, that were removed by building, to the nature. At the same time, the green roof increases the quality of living. The diploma paper discusses the term ″green roof″ as an element in architecture which, with its elements, represents a standard in sustainable architecture. A brief overview about the history of the green roof and its role in urban environment is given. Also, its basic elements are presented and the description of individual assemblies is included, followed by comparison between classic flat roof and greened flat roof. Furthermore, the basic types of greenings as well as their maintenance are introduced in the description. The second part of this diploma paper presents the expected and executed solutions of the reference example at the Faculty of agriculture and life sciences in University of Maribor, which has a sloped green roof. The findings suggest that every, even a very small green surface is an important part of the nature and therefore, active environmental policy in our country should stimulate the substitution of the already lost green surfaces by using green roofs wherever and whenever this is possible and acceptable.
