Abstract

Secondary title: LOGISTICS ANALYSIS OF THE PICKER-TO-PART ORDER PICKING SYSTEM
Secondary abstract: Order picking is the process of collecting and retrieving items from the warehouse in response to a specific order picking list. Order picking is identified as the most labor intensive and costly activity for almost every warehouse in the practice. Various order picking system types can be found in warehouses. The majority of warehouses use low- or high-level Picker-to-parts systems, where the order picker walks or drives along the picking aisles to pick (collect) items. In the diploma work, logistics analysis of the Picker-to-part order picking system is presented. The analysis is based on three warehouse layouts, three different orders and four order picking strategies. The programe suported tool Interactive Warehouse has been used for the analysis. Mean routes of the order picker, which are based on the warehouse layout, number of orders and selected order picking strategy, have been determined. The quick insight in the order picking efficiency can be gain on the basis of the analysis, with which the main objective of the diploma work has been achieved.
