Abstract

V diplomskem delu bomo definirali in predstavili strategije varnostnega kopiranja podatkov in pomen podatkov za podjetja. V teoretičnem delu smo opisali zgodovino varnostnega kopiranja in arhiviranja, medije za shranjevanje in podatkovne repozitorne modele. Opisali in primerjali smo strategije in pristope varnostnega kopiranja ter predstavili statistiko izgube podatkov. Zraven tradicionalnih pristopov smo predstavili tudi varnostno shranjevanje in arhiviranje podatkov v oblaku ter hibridne pristope. Funkcionalno smo primerjali prosto in odprtokodno programsko opremo, ki je namenjena varnostnemu kopiranju in arhiviranju. V praktičnem delu smo programsko opremo testirali in primerjali, glede na porabo računalniških virov v aktivnem in pasivnem stanju.

Secondary abstract: In the thesis we define and represent the data backup strategies and the importance of data for businesses. In the theoretical part, we describe the history of backup and archiving, storage media and data repository models. We describe and compare backup strategies and approaches and represent statistics of data loss. Besides traditional backup, we will introduce cloud backup and hybrid approaches. We compare free and open source software by functionality. In practical part we test described software and compare it, in terms of consumption of computer resources in active and passive state.
