Abstract

Secondary title: Long-distance traffic forecast tools, case Trans-Tools
Secondary abstract: Rapid traffic growth in Europe and therefore also in the Slovenian traffic network, leads on many problems in traffic. These problems are traffic jams, increased air emissions, noise, and also directly increased risk and safety of participants in traffic. In order to foresee the situation in the future, so that these problems wouldn’t occur, we could timely foresee and assure needed traffic infrastructure with the use of traffic models. These allow us to test solutions and actions before they are performed in the real situation. This model is a simplified presentation of only one part of real situation, and is focused on the particular problem from the particular point of view. The European Commission has established that for the needs of traffic planning and mobility in Europe we need a tool, which would exceed some insufficiencies of actual traffic models. They developed the Trans-Tools model, which we set in motion trough this thesis and tested particular scenarios that could happened in Slovenia in the future.
