Abstract

Cilj diplomske naloge je ugotoviti vpliv uporabe biogoriv na karakteristike dizelskega motorja s pomočjo numeričnih simulacij. V ta namen je bil v programskem paketu AVL BOOST izdelan računalniški model motorja. Delovanje motorja temelji na vnaprej določenih fizikalnih modelih in modelnih konstantah. Numerične simulacije so bile izvedene v vseh obratovalnih točkah, ki jih določa ESC test. Študija je pokazala, da uporaba biodizelskega goriva negativno vpliva na zmogljivostne karakteristike dizelskega motorja.

Secondary title: Numerical simulation of combustion process in diesel engine by usage of various fuels
Secondary abstract: The purpose of this diploma work is to find out how the use of bio fuels affects the characteristics of the modern diesel engine with the help of numerical simulations. A computational model of engine has been designed for exactly this purpose in the AVL BOOST program. The workflow of the engine is based on predetermined models and model based constants. The numerical simulations have been executed in all the areas of the engine which are deemed necessary by the ESC test. The study has shown that the use of biodiesel fuel negatively affects the performance characteristics of the engine.
