diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa
Abstract
Tako smo določili kombinacijo optimalnih obratovalnih pogojev, s katerimi dosežemo čim večjo gostoto volumskega toka permeata in čim manjšo zamašitev por v membrani.

ULTRAFILTRATION OF OIL IN WATER EMULSIONS USING PAN MEMBRANE |
Secondary abstract: |
The diploma work is based on the treatment of oil in water emulsions with ultrafiltration (UF) using polyacrylonitrile (PAN) membrane. The aim of the research was to investigate the interaction of four factors (concentration of oil in the emulsion, pH, pressure and amount of salt NaCl) at three levels. Thus we determined the optimal combination of operating conditions to achieve the maximum density of permeate flow rate and minimize the fouling of the membrane. For designing experiments, we used the Taguchi method for minimizing the number of necessary experiments. We also used analysis of variance (ANOVA) to evaluate the influence of process parameters on the value of the optimization criterion, in our case this was the density of permeate flow rate. For each experiment, we have prepared a model oil-in-water emulsion, which is used in the metal processing industry. With all measurement’s and analyse’s results we determined the efficiency of individual components at the specified operating conditions. The results showed that the highest density flow was achieved at pH= 9, the concentration of oil, φ=0.5 (v/v %) at p = 3 bar and mass concentration, = 1 g/L NaCl. Fouling was defined on the basis of calculations of flux reduction and modified fouling index (MFI). Membrane fouling is the most affected by the concentration of oil in emulsions. |
