Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo se posvetili železniškem prometu v Nemčiji. Glede na to, da ima Nemčija zelo pomembno vlogo v Evropski uniji in njenem gospodarstvu, ocenjujemo, da je temu primerno razvit in pomemben njihov železniški promet in s tem železnica. Že podatki kažejo, da ima Nemčija najdaljšo železniško omrežje, kljub temu da nima največjega ozemlja v Evropi. Prav tako ima zelo razvito infrastrukturo, ki dopušča velike pretočne zmogljivosti ter se še izboljšuje. Kljub krizi, ki je v letu 2009 prizadela predvsem tovorni promet, se podjetje Deutsche Bahn postavlja nazaj na »stare tire«. To se vidi predvsem pri prihodkih, ki se povečujejo, in zaposlovanju ljudi, kar je dober pokazatelj, da je železniški promet lahko uspešen tudi v kriznih časih. Prav tako pa jim je poleg lastne uspešnosti pomembno tudi okolje, predvsem podnebje, za katerega na svoj način iščejo rešitve.

Secondary title: Characteristics of railway transport in Germany
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we focused on railway transport in Germany. Given the fact that Germany plays a very important role in the European Union and its economy, we estimate that their railway transport and railroad are appropriate developed and important. The data alone show that Germany has the longest rail network in Europe, although it does not have the biggest territory. Also, the infrastructure is very developed and allows high throughput capacity, and is still improving. Despite the crisis, which in 2009 affected mainly freight transport, the company Deutsche Bahn is on the way to put themselves back to »old ways«. We can see that, looking at the increasing incomes and employment of people, which are good indicators that railway transport can be successful in times of crisis. Besides their success, the environment is important for them, especially the climate, for which they are looking for solutions in their own way.
