diplomsko delo
Abstract
V diplomskem delu je predstavljena uporaba povpraševalnega jezika XQuery na primeru iskalnika po digitalnem televizijskem sporedu (angl. EPG) na storitvi AmisTV 1.5. Skozi delo so predstavljeni koncepti jezika XQuery in orodja za delo s tem jezikom. Delo predstavi delovanje produkcijskega iskalnika AmisTV 1.5, ki deluje z uporabo relacijske podatkovne baze in jezika SQL, ter praktično rešitev iskalnika z uporabo jezika XQuery. Obe rešitvi sta v diplomskem delu primerjani s statistiko, pridobljeno z izvajanjem testov obremenitve. Delo vsebuje tudi predloge, kako izboljšati zmogljivosti aplikacij v jeziku XQuery.

The graduation thesis presents the use of the query language XQuery, by the example of the AmisTV search engine, which is a search engine for electronic program guide data on digital television AmisTV 1.5. The concepts of XQuery language and also some tools to work with it are presented. The thesis defines the main principles of AmisTV search engine, which operates on the use of relational data base and query language SQL; furthermore the practical solution for the search engine by using the query language XQuery is presented. Both solutions are tested with load tests and statistically compared. Consequently, the thesis includes suggestions how to improve performance of applications in XQuery language. |
