| Secondary abstract: | The purpose of thesis entitled “Functionalization of materials using TiO2 nano-structures” has been studying the UV permeability of processed fabrics with potential UV absorber of titanium dioxide (TiO2) after depletion process. At the same time I examined whether the TiO2 medium has also self-cleaning effect on used materials. I analyzed two different fabrics that were made of pure cotton and mixture of cotton/polyester. For each sample I measured UV permeability and UPF factor with the spectrophotometer. I found that after depletion process of fabric processing we can increase UV protection. The UV absorber of titanium dioxide used in the study proved to be a good tool for UV protection especially with the processing of cotton materials. |
