Sociološki in zdravstveni vidiki zlorab in nasilja nad starejšimi

Abstract

O nasilju in zlorabah nad starejšimi se čedalje več govori, čeprav se problem nasilja nad starejšimi v družbi pojavlja že od nekdaj, vendar takrat zgolj kot družinski problem, ki se mora znotraj družine tudi razrešiti. Ker se prebivalstvo stara, je tudi nasilje nad starejšimi vse bolj pereč problem. Predmet diplomskega dela je analiza socioloških in zdravstvenih vidikov zlorab in nasilja nad starejšimi. V teoretičnem delu smo tako najprej opisali starostnike in staranje, slednje smo opisali tudi iz kronološke, biološke in doživljajske perspektive. Predstavljena je tudi gerontofobija, diskriminacija in stereotipi o starejših. Opisali smo tudi različne vrste nasilja in zlorab nad starejšimi, predstavili smo vzroke in dejavnike tveganja za pojav nasilja nad starejšimi, kakor tudi zakaj se še zmeraj zoper to problematiko premalokrat ukrepa, tudi s strani zdravstvenih delavcev. Predstavljene so vladne in nevladne organizacije, ki se ukvarjajo s problematiko nasilja in zlorab nad starejšimi, vloga medicinskih sester pri obravnavi nasilja ter preventivne dejavnosti in Zakon o preprečevanju nasilja v družini.

Secondary abstract:	Violence and abuse against older people is a subject getting discussed more and more often. Even though the problem of violence against older people in society has been observed in the past, this was considered as a family matter that must be resolved within the family. As the population ages, violence against the elderly is increasing. The thesis is the analysis of sociological and medical aspects of abuse and violence against older people. In the theoretical part, we first describe the elderly and aging, latter on we also described a chronological, biological and experiential perspective of aging. We are also presenting the term of gerontophobia, discrimination and stereotypes about older people. We also described the different types of violence and abuse against elderly, we presented the causes and risk factors for the occurrence of violence against older persons, as well as why there are still too few actions to prevent this. We are overlooking, how governmental and non-governmental organizations are dealing with issues of violence and abuse against older people nowadays, as well as the role of nurse in dealing with violence, what prevention activities are taking place and last but not least the Law on prevention of domestic violence is being presented.
