(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Brez ustrezne izobrazbe in teoretičnega znanja patronažna medicinska sestra ne more strokovno opravljati svojega dela. Drugi del diplomskega dela zajema raziskavo, izvedeno v Zdravstvenem domu dr. Adolfa Drolca Maribor.

Secondary abstract: |
Palliative care and nursing is a holistic approach to treating the patient with an incurable and progressive disease, and in addition to the care, treatment and controlling of symptoms, it also cares for the patient's psychological, social and spiritual needs. The most important and primary role is that of the nurse at each institution, as well as the home care nurse in the field, taking care of the patient also for the well-being of family and relatives. Slovenia is among the countries that strive for the development of a modern palliative care. Palliative care together with nursing is regularly and closely monitored and is evolving since the mid-nineties. The second part of the thesis includes a study with a total of forty home care nurses who have completed an anonymous questionnaire. We wanted to find out how home nurses evaluate their knowledge in the field of palliative health care, whether they are satisfied with the number of learning hours at the undergraduate level and whether an additional professional training would result in them being more successful in involving family members in palliative health care. Most home care nurses evaluate their expertise to be good, at the same time two-thirds of the respondents are dissatisfied with the number of lessons on palliative nursing at the undergraduate level. They state that with the additional expertise they would have been more successful in involving family members in palliative care. It can be concluded that the education of future nurses should focus more on palliative nursing and care. For home care nurses continuing education and training in the field of palliative care after graduation is also necessary. |
