(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Sklep: Otrok s cerebralno paralizo potrebuje interdisciplinarno in kontinuirano zdravstveno obravnavo.

The School child with Cerebral palsy |
Secondary abstract: |
Teoretical introduction: In diploma work we have presented problems of a pupil with cerebral palsy, which is a nonprogressive condition caused by abnormalities in development of the brain or its damage during pregnancy. The consequence is mental, physical and social impairment of a child. Tasks of a nurse when rehabilitating children with neurological disorders are early discovery of risk, immediate start of rehabilitation, continuous treatment, team work, individual planning. With the research I wanted to establish the main problems in a child suffering from cerebral palsy, the relation of families and society towards such a child, and how medical workers can help most.
Research methodology: The research is based on qualitative methodology. Case study will be carried out and technique of open-ended question interview will be used.
Results: By means of a case study we found out that the girl and her parents reconciled themselves to her medical condition. The girl has most difficulties with basic life activity of movement and with appropriate body position, in which she is totally dependent on others. She likes attending school very much and being among her peers, who have similar needs as herself.
Conclusion: A child with cerebral palsy needs interdisciplinary and continuous medical treatment. Parents have the key role since they greatly help to satisfy a child's basic life needs. The common aim of all the people included in the programme of a child's care is, of course, to enable the child a quality life with as much independence as possible. |
