Abstract

Enostavnost arhitekture in enostavnost oblikovanja prostora poudarja glavni arhitekturni element našega pogleda na slovensko sodobno hišo, galerijski prehod, torej „most“ hiše.

Secondary title: CONTEMPORARAY SLOVENIAN HOUSE IN THE EYES OF YOUNG ARCHITECTS
Secondary abstract: Alongside the development of Slovenian society, residents’ housing needs also change. Moreover, the 21st century family, ecologically aware, demands a sustainable architecture which is environmentally friendly. That considered, we have decided to modernize the traditional Slovenian gable roof house, and design a house that bases upon that tradition and create a residential space that would offer a contemporary life to its residents. What seems as a simple gable roof house is, in fact, hiding the modularity of living spaces which are changeable according to owner’s current needs. The simplicity of exterior and interior design is emphasizing the main element of our view point on Slovenian contemporary housing, the gallery transition space and basically “the bridge” of the house. That transition space, made of red corten steel, metaphorically connects the traditional and contemporary Slovenian housing. Our house also reflects future Slovenian society, which is keeping up with world trends. In spite of that, the society will maintain some traditional elements and will, furthermore, develop on its own.
