Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo predelali novosti, ki jih prinaša označevalni jezik HTML5, ter se osredotočili na možnosti, ki jih ponuja pri razvoju spletnih aplikacij. Novosti smo razcepili na podskupine ter jih opisali in predstavili z osnovnimi primeri uporabe. V nadaljevanju smo se osredotočili na razvoj spletne aplikacije z uporabo jezika HTML5, kjer smo razvili enostavno aplikacijo namenjeno manipuliranju fotografij. Po razvoju aplikacije smo se nato osredotočili na delovanje aplikacije v najbolj množično uporabljenih spletnih brskalnikih in preverili njihovo kompatibilnost. Ugotovili smo, da jezik HTML5 ni primeren za samostojno uporabo v razvoju spletnih aplikacij, in da ima pomanjkljivo varnost, s čimer lahko ogroža delovanje aplikacij.

Secondary abstract: In the thesis new functionalities of the HTML5 markup language were reviewed and the possibilities now available to the development of web applications were focused on. Moreover, the new functionalities were divided into groups and examined with basic examples. A new web application for image manipulation was developed using HTML5. After the development of of the web application a focus was put on possible compatibility issues our application was encountering in diffrent web browsers. It has been concluded that HTML5 is not yet ready to be used as a stand alone technology in the development of web applications as it has compatibility issues and poor security which may have a negative influence on the web application as a whole.
