Abstract

Osrednja tema naloge je prenova objekta stare termoelektrarne v Velenju. Objekt je obravnavan z zgodovinskega vidika ter vidika varovanja in prenove industrijske arhitekturne dediščine. Analitični del obsega nekdanji in današnji pomen objekta za ožjo in širšo okolico, analizo lokacije, materialov in konstrukcije, opisno analizo zunanje arhitekturne pojavnosti in notranje razporeditve prostorov. Izpostavljen in vrednoten je že izdelan projekt prenove obravnavane elektrarne, ki predvideva umestitev novega programa - Fakulteto za energetiko z dejavnostjo inštituta za energetiko. V praktičnem delu je lastni projekt prenove usmerjen k revitalizaciji trenutno propadajoče termoelektrarne, ki bi kot center s kulturnim, izobraževalnim in kreativnim programom doprinesla k ekonomskemu in socialnemu razvoju Velenja ter se povezala z mestom in prebivalci.

Secondary abstract:	The main topic of the thesis is the renovation of the old thermal power station in Velenje. The building has been studied from a historical perspective and from the perspective of conservation and renovation of the industrial and architectural heritage. The analytical part encompasses the former and the current importance of the building for the near and distant surroundings, the analysis of the location, materials and construction, descriptive analysis of the architectural manifestation and the layout of the interior space. The existing project of the renovation of the power station has been exposed and evaluated. It suggests the introduction of a new program – Faculty of Power Engineering and the activities of a power engineering institute. In the practical part my own project of renovation is presented and it focuses on the revitalisation of the dilapidating thermal power station that would become a centre for cultural, educational and creative programs. In addition, it would contribute to economic and social development of Velenje and connect itself with the town and its inhabitants.
