Abstract

Secondary title: OPTIMIZATION OF DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION IN DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM CONSIDERING VOLTAGE PROFILES AND TRANSMISSION LOSS MINIMIZATION
Secondary abstract: In this master thesis optimization of distributed power generation is presented. The optimization is based on an algorithm that generates references for reactive and active power generation in distributed generation units connected to the low voltage network. In the proposed algorithm the optimization method called differential evolution and load flow calculations are used. The reference values for reactive and active power generation in distributed generation units are determined in that way that an appropriate voltage profile of distribution network is provided. In case that appropriate voltage profile can be provided without active power generation curtailment, then the reactive power generation is determined in that that way, that transmission power losses are minimized. The proposed algorithm is tested under different operating conditions in distribution network in order to prove its effectiveness and robustness.
