Prenova palače Egkh

Abstract

Projektna naloga obravnava prenovo kompleksa nekdanje palače plemiške družine Egkh v Kranju. Palača je umeščena v staro mestno jedro Kranja in je obdana s kulturno-zgodovinsko pomembnimi objekti. Kljub imenitni lokaciji palača danes nima več prave funkcije. Nekoč pomembna javna funkcija objekta je usahnila z zamiranjem mestnega jedra. Ob vikendih zaživi le notranje dvorišče objekta, ko prostor napolnijo stojnice mestne tržnice. V projektu je predstavljena ena izmed možnosti, kako bi lahko palačo prenovili in vanjo vrnili družabno dogajanje. V pritličnih prostorih in na dvorišču bi se uredila nova pokrita tržnica, prostori v prvem nadstropju pa bi se namenili prodajalnam, pisarnam in večnamenski dvorani. Prenova palače ne bi pomenila le ponovno oživitev objekta, temveč bi predstavljala tudi pomemben korak k obuditvi starega mestnega jedra.

Secondary abstract:	The project focuses on the renovation of the former palace complex of a noble family of Egkh. The palace complex is located in old town centre of Kranj and it is surrounded with historically important buildings. Despite its eminent location, the true meaning of the complex was lost simultaneously with beginning of the suburbanization process. Nowadays the place is alive only at weekends, when market stalls take place on palace courtyard. The project presents the suggestion for revitalisation of the Egkh palace complex. Market area, currently located on the courtyard would be renewed and expanded into ground floor of the palace complex. On the second floor offices, few small shops and large multipurpose hall would take place after renovation. Renovation of the palace complex would restore its former reputation and social function but at the same time it would be important step in revitalisation of old town centre.
