Abstract

Diplomsko delo govori o revoluciji družbenih medijev. V prvem delu smo se osredotočili na nekaj zanimivih dejstev in statističnih podatkov, s katerimi želimo bralcem prikazati razsežnosti družbenih medijev danes. Izpostavili smo tudi nekaj prednosti ter slabosti uporabe le-teh. Nato smo predstavili osrednjo tematiko, ki govori o predstavniku nove generacije družbenih omrežij – SiteTalk. Slednjega smo opisali z vidika uporabnika, podjetja in neodvisnega poslovnega predstavnika, ki je aktivno vključen v poslovni model in uporablja SiteTalk kot orodje za svoj neodvisen posel. To smo storili tako, da smo nadgradili članstvo tudi mi in raziskali različne možnosti uporabnika. SiteTalk uporablja in ustvarja osnovne funkcije, ki so podobne številnim družbenim skupnostim, a so med prvimi na tržišču družbenih medijev, v tako obsežni meri, združili kombinacijo družbene skupnosti, spletne trgovine in model mrežnega marketinga. Predstavili smo osnovni princip slednjega ter ga tudi kritično ovrednotili. V zadnjem delu smo opravili primerjalno analizo med SiteTalkom in Facebookom. Za to primerjavo smo se odločili predvsem zaradi tega, ker javnost dobro pozna Facebook, saj velja trenutno za najbolj priljubljeno družbeno omrežje. Na videz sta tudi podobni spletni skupnosti, a z drugače zastavljenim poslovnim modelom. Na koncu sledijo še rezultati raziskave in sprejetje oz. zavrnitev hipotez, postavljenih na začetku.

Secondary abstract: Thesis talks about the social media revolution. In the first part we focus on some interesting facts and statistics with which we want to show readers the dimension of social media today. We highlight some advantages and disadvantages of using them. Then we present a central theme, which speaks about a representative of the new generation of social networks - SiteTalk. It is described from the perspective of consumer, company and independent business representative who is actively involved in the business model and uses SiteTalk as a tool for his own independent business. This was done in a way that we upgraded membership and investigated various options for the user. SiteTalk uses and creates the basic features that are similar to many social communities, but they are among the first in the market of social media to merge the combination of social community, online shop and network marketing model to such a large extend. We presented the basic principle of the latter, and also critically evaluated it. In the last section we performed a comparative analysis between SiteTalk and Facebook. We have primary decided for this comparison because the public is well aware of Facebook, as it is currently the most popular social network. They are similar online communities by appearance, but with differently planned business models. At the end we present the results of research and adoption or rejection of hypotheses set at the beginning.
