diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract
V prvem delu so pojasnjeni pojmi Slovenska vojska, policija in mirovne operacije.

The diploma thesis presents the comparison of Slovenian Police and Slovenian Armed forces which send police officers and soldiers on the peacekeeping missions. The thesis is divided into two parts.
The first part explains the concepts: Slovenian Police, Slovenian Armed forces and the peacekeeping missions. We were interested in the motivation for going on a mission, the psychological effects that occur before departure and subsequent return, and the reasons for the departure on a peacekeeping mission. In the theoretical part we also explained the concept of reintegration in Police and Armed forces. We also focused on the legislative system on which the operation of Police and Armed forces is based.
The second part consists of two interviews and their analysis. We interviewed a police officer and a soldier with a lot of professional experience in peacekeeping missions.
The results of the analysis show that the peacekeeping missions are important because all the cooperating countries prove their liability to international security, peace and stability. Each country takes part in missions with military, police and economic forces. There are a lot of preparations for the mission needed, both in Police and Armed forces. According to research the money is still one of the main motives for joining the mission. However, we should not forget about other factors, such as changing work environment and gaining new knowledge. The family also has an important influence on the peacekeeper's feelings. Good family relations reduce the stress and increase the motivation at work. |
