Abstract

Secondary title: Identification and comparison of active labour market policies in Slovenia from 2007 to 2011
Secondary abstract: Due to poor situation at the labor market, caused by recession, unemployment rate has increased significantly. The statistics show that in 2011 103,000 people were registered as unemployed. However, unemployment has not been a problem only in the past few years; it has been present for a long time. Due to the increase in unemployment, some countries have implemented an active employment policy, which is a set of targeted measures and programs, in order to provide additional work opportunities. In my thesis, I have investigated an active employment policy in Slovenia in the period from 2007 to 2011. In addition, I examined the emergence of an active employment policy, its programs with which the government influences the labor force, and with which it seeks to integrate the unemployed into economically active people. Last but not least, active labor market policy is of great importance as it solves one of the biggest problems that occurs in the labor market.
