Abstract

Precious metals market |
| Secondary abstract: |
Precious metals are a common name for rare metallic chemical elements, which can be found in nature, with high economic value. Historically they have been important as currency or as a resource for exchange. Today they are regarded as investment and industrial commodities.
Their industrial use is very wide. We can find usage of precious metals in medicine, electronics, art (jewelry), chemical industry and even in food industry.
The role of precious metals as an investment is first of all store of value. Because of that reason, demand usually rises in events of social economic or natural events, which have a negative impact on the economy. Investments can be made indirectly (buying mining company shares) or directly (buying bars, coins,). But by all means should investments in precious metals be considered as insurance of equity in longer term rather than a quick money making opportunity. |
