Abstract

Geometrija orodnih vložkov s konformno oblikovanim hladilnim sistemom je z uporabo konvencionalnh postopkov in materialov neizvedljiva, kar upravičuje uporabo alternativnih materialov v povezavi z dodajalnimi tehnologijami.

Secondary title: Use of alternative materials for injection molding prototyping tools
Secondary abstract: Thesis shows the design of a prototype tool for injection molding in an unconventional way. The process of design is adapted to the manufacturing technology by selective laser sintering of alumide. A product from the real industrial environment is selected. With injection molding simulations, the deformation of the base model is shown. On the basis of these the solution, that involves changes in the product geometry and tool design with conformal cooling channels, is based. Simulation of injection molding in such a tool displays a satisfactory result. The tool is implemented in the form of normal two plate design with interchangeable inserts, sintered from alumide. The process of tool design, is shown in computer aided design environment Solidworks and preparation of inputs to production by selective laser sintering. The geometry of the tool inserts with conformably shaped cooling system is unproducible with conventional manufacturing processes, thus justifying the use of alternative materials in conjunction with the additive technologies. As an advantage of using additive fabrication proves herself simplicity of the manufacturing process, since the time and cost perspective quicker and more comfortable than conventional.
