Abstract

Secondary title: MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSES (MOOC) VERSUS CONVENTIONAL E-LEARNING PRINCIPLES
Secondary abstract: The aim of this diploma thesis was to identify and present the characteristics of massive open online courses (MOOC) principles, as well as characteristics of conventional e-learning principles. The characteristics of principles have been examined on the basis of learning environments, learning theories, mode of communication and also examinations and assessments. We have also exposed the potential weaknesses of both entities. In the second part we have thoroughly studied the platform Udacity with the ongoing course Introduction to Psychology. We have exposed and analyzed the principles that have been present in the course. With the help of online questionnaire we have been able to evaluate the user experience of some of the identified principles. On the basis of the findings, we have also proposed some solutions, regarding the principles improvement.
